Ways of Working With Me

Alchemized Body

1 — 10-Week Alchemized Body Course on Intention-fueled Eating

This 10-week course is not about losing weight, and it isn’t about changing what you eat. Instead we invite you to shift your focus towards how you eat - or in other words, onto who you are as an eater. Our beliefs, mindsets, behavioral patterns, and emotional, neurobiological, and physiological states, all influence how our bodies process and store the food that we eat, and ultimately shape our overall health and wellbeing. The good news is that freedom, holistic health, and psychological and spiritual wellness can be found by taking a deep dive into the underlying transdiagnostic factors that drive disordered eating behaviors, physical diseases, and psychological disorders. This course was developed with Amy at Cafe Binge, and is informed by both our personal processes and our unique expertise. Join us on a deeply personal and transformational journey towards finding peace with and within our bodies, and tapping into the inherent wisdom they hold.

2 — One-On-One Health Coaching

For those navigating disordered eating or wanting to explore their relationship with food or their bodies, I offer one-on-one health coaching. Because my approach builds on course content, I only work individually with those who are currently taking or have completed the 10-Week Alchemized Body course on Intention-Fueled Eating. Alchemy is about transformation, and deep, meaningful, measurable, and enduring personal transformation is at the heart of my clinical and academic work. I absolutely believe that change is possible. I have experienced such transformation personally, and I have witnessed it in my clinical work. This transformation is less about becoming than it is about unbecoming. It’s a process of shedding the things that separate us from our authentic selves and our feelings. It is in finding ourselves that we find our greatest power, as well as holistic health and wellbeing. Hence, my work is focused on helping others tap into their own wisdom and power. You are the expert and authority on you. I trust in your innate wisdom, and that you intuitively sense what is in your highest good. We each have values that guide our life paths, and mine is freedom. Freedom to think and feel; freedom to speak; freedom to choose; freedom to change; freedom to love; freedom from trauma, disease & disorder; & freedom to be YOU.

I specialize in disordered eating, and have over a decade of experience working as a licensed clinical therapist treating a variety of eating and comorbid disorders in inpatient, residential, outpatient, wilderness, and Telehealth settings. I have extensive experience using a wide array of treatment approaches and targeted interventions to support holistic health and wellbeing. I am trained in Jungian analysis, mindfulness-based and mindfulness-informed therapies, trauma-informed approaches, psychedelic-assisted therapies, and psychophysiological techniques to intentionally shift both states and traits. I am also a researcher, and have taught bachelors, masters and doctoral level courses at the University of Utah and the University of Tennessee. My academic work is particularly focused on the effects of allostatic load, and the ways in which chronic stress, trauma, epigenetics, and social determinants of health can drive disparities in the transdiagnostic manifestations of disease and disorders, as well as exploring methods of targeting the underlying biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors that perpetuate compulsive behaviors, anxiety, and depression.

While I am currently licensed in Utah, Hawaii, and California, I offer courses and one-on-one sessions as health coaching sessions that mirror my therapeutic approach, rather than as therapy. I do this for a number of reasons: first, to protect the privacy and confidentiality of my clients; second, insurance companies require that I give a client a diagnosis, which is counter to my transdiagnostic framework for understanding disease and disorders; third, insurance companies often dictate the type of treatment clients can receive; and fourth, because of the legal challenges involved with doing therapy across state lines. Health coaching services may be covered by your Health Savings Account (HSA) or via your Flexible Spending Account (FSA), contact your plan administrator for more information.

The first session is a 90 minute session, which is $444, and includes an initial assessment. This allows me to get to know you individually and will make our work together much more meaningful. Following this initial session, I require an up front commitment to four sessions, for $1111, which are 45 minute sessions (total for the first 5 sessions is $1555). Each additional follow-up session afterwards is $222.

3 — Live Classes

I love to learn, teach, and facilitate meaningful dialogue, and have extensive experience conducting group therapies, teaching university courses, and guest lecturing or presenting in a variety of settings. Periodically I offer live classes via Zoom on various topics, including a 3-part series on psychedelic-assisted healing:

1—Alchemized Body: Psychedelic-Assisted Healing

2—Alchemized Body: Journey Integration

3—Alchemized Body: Medicinal Mushrooms & Herbal Allies

If you’re interested in the 10-week Alchemized Body course on Intention-Fueled Eating, or are considering working with me one-on-one, these classes are a great way to get to know me and my therapeutic framework and approach at minimal cost. Each class is $88, and generally lasts about 2 hours. A Q&A session is always included at the end of each class, and questions are both encouraged and welcomed —these can be submitted in advance or asked verbally or via chat during the session. Upcoming class dates and topics will be posted both on this site and on Instagram. You can also join the email list for any class or course updates.
